Pretty in Pink

Today we had our Coast inspection which amounted to a bunch of Coast Guard inspectors, easily identifiable by the blue Coast Guard jackets they wore, going about the ship and making sure everything is ship-shape.

For myself, my day consisted mostly of idling and skylarking as I waited for the bells to ring for drill. I actually drank a cup of coffee! We managed to do the one drill where I successfully hid from pirates, but we never got to the other two. I'm assuming we are going to do these later, possibly after we are already underway.

The library was substantially cooler today -- perhaps they burned off some of that solidified crude in the interim. I managed to work on unloading some of the supplies and then my co-worker showed me how our archaic library software worked.

So the reason why this post is called 'Pretty in Pink' is because upon my return to Fort Schuyler, I found that the bicycle that I am borrowing has been delivered. It is a lovely pink women's bike that alas, is missing its streamers. I'll make sure to get some images of the bike up. I need to name the bike, so if anybody has any ideas, please feel free to let me know.

Fair winds and following seas,
Joe

  1. You drank coffee?? How much of it did you drink? Did you actually swallow? You should name your bike Molly, for obvious reasons. Still can't get over the coffee... If you're going to drink coffee, at least drink what we have at home, it's premium blend
